Here are a few frames from a sequence in Bardleys the Magnificent that some people think has John Wayne. The John Wayne Filmography states: “Wayne and his boyhood friend Pexy Eckles were hired as spear-carrying guards in the gallows scene.” Although not the scene mentioned, Wayne probably appeared in this scene as the spear-carrying guard shown at left of the first frame, and perhaps in a few other scenes in the film.
